About Us

Dongguan Dobest Industrial Co., Ltd. (Dobest) was founded in 2013 and has focused on specialty computerized embroidery for 13 years, with toothbrush embroidery and chenille embroidery as its flagship techniques. It runs 30+ specialty computerized embroidery machines, including 15 dedicated toothbrush-embroidery machines, in a 3,000 m² factory. A Grade A taxpayer for four consecutive years (2021–2024), it has passed Disney ILS and adidas SEA factory audits.

Dongguan Dobest Industrial Co., Ltd. (short name "Dobest") was founded on August 15, 2013, with a registered capital of RMB 1 million and unified social credit code 91441900076690255J. Its registered and production address is 2/F, Building E, Jinmao Xincheng, No.7 Jiedong South Road, Xiaojiejiao, Humen Town, Dongguan, Guangdong, China, and its legal representative is Mr. Liu Ronghui.

Humen is a nationally renowned apparel and garment city and a core hub of the South China and Greater Bay Area garment industry cluster — and it is right here that we have spent 13 years in specialty computerized embroidery.

Business Focus and Customer Profile

Dobest is a technology-driven manufacturer integrating computerized embroidery processing, embroidered-product R&D, production, and sales. For 13 years we have stayed focused on one niche — specialty, raised (3D), and high-difficulty embroidery — without spreading into unrelated categories. We are known for two signature techniques: Toothbrush Embroidery (also called Flocking, Turf, Vertical Pile, Tufting, Brush, or Sheared-Pile Embroidery) and Chenille Embroidery (also known as Towel Embroidery, Chain Stitch Embroidery, or Loop Embroidery, and regionally by the Cantonese trade names "gau laang", "gau mou", and "sau jiu"). We also offer a complete range of computerized embroidery solutions, including Backing-Free Embroidery, Flat Embroidery, Sequin Embroidery, Appliqué Embroidery, Laser-Cut / Laser-Engraved Embroidery, Machine Beading, Cord & Braid Embroidery, Fringe Embroidery, Cross-Stitch Embroidery, Chunky Wool Machine Embroidery, Flat Metallic Thread Machine Embroidery, Needle-Fur / Brushed-Nap Embroidery, 3D Hollow Embroidery, 3D Foam & EVA Puff Embroidery, and Wall Covering / Wall Mural Machine Embroidery.

Our customers are brands and manufacturers in apparel, footwear, headwear, bags, and accessories, along with export trims and accessories buyers, trading houses, and cross-border e-commerce livestream sellers. Our products and services serve China and reach the Japanese, European, North American, and Southeast Asian markets.

Signature Technique 1: Toothbrush Embroidery

Flocking Embroidery · Turf Embroidery · Vertical Pile Embroidery · Tufting Embroidery | Toothbrush Embroidery

Toothbrush Embroidery is a three-dimensional embroidery technique that makes the thread stand upright, dense, and fluffy on the fabric surface like toothbrush bristles — hence the name. It is Dobest's signature technique: we began producing it in 2013, the year the company was founded, achieved a key process breakthrough in 2014, and from 2015 put our full focus on it. More than a decade of continuous refinement has given us mature process parameters and proven mass-production experience.

Four Hard Indicators of Dobest Toothbrush Embroidery

  • Soft hand feel — no stiff adhesive backing; comfortable against the skin with no hard, scratchy feel.
  • Resists shedding after washing — the thread resists loosening or shedding after repeated washing and rubbing.
  • Upright and firm — the pile stands upright and holds its shape without collapsing or deforming.
  • Breathable and skin-friendly — the embroidered area breathes well and does not irritate the skin.

Why is Toothbrush Embroidery "simple to look at, hard to make"?

Many factories in the industry produce toothbrush embroidery by padding thick felt onto an ordinary flat embroidery machine: they first place 5–6 mm of felt, then interlace the top thread and bobbin thread to form the pattern, apply adhesive to the back, trim part of the felt with a skiving machine, and remove the residue so the thread "stands up".

This method relies on bobbin-thread interlocking, and the adhesive can only bond to the bobbin thread — the top thread barely adheres. As a result, the thread is prone to loosening and shedding, feels stiff and non-breathable, starts shedding after washing, and the defect rate stays stubbornly high — losses that buyers often end up absorbing.

Dobest took a different path. We rebuilt the key parts and control system of our embroidery machines in-house, adopting a single-sided direct threading + high-strength TPU heat-fused locking process: a single top thread travels repeatedly between the fabric and the felt, and the back is fully bonded with TPU adhesive before the excess felt and thread are trimmed away.

The single-thread structure lets the adhesive lock every thread firmly in place, so the finished product is soft to the touch, with upright pile, breathability, and wash resistance. Our internal defect rate for toothbrush embroidery has long stayed under 1% (internal quality-control figure, not third-party tested; specific test items are confirmed against the acceptance standard at sampling) — which means a hidden "industry loss tax" no longer shows up in your procurement cost.

Signature Technique 2: Chenille Embroidery

Towel Embroidery · Chain Stitch Embroidery · Loop Embroidery | Chenille Embroidery / Towel Embroidery

Chenille Embroidery — which some customers call "gau laang", "gau mou", or "sau jiu" (Cantonese trade names) and which is known in English as chenille embroidery or towel embroidery, with the stitch structures also called Chain Stitch Embroidery or Loop Embroidery — uses a special looping structure to form continuous looped pile on the fabric surface, creating a full, thick, warm chenille texture. It is the eye-catching finish of choice for hoodies, baseball jackets, varsity jackets, fashion bags, and sneakers.

Through integrated control of thread, stitching, density, pile height, and finishing, Dobest helps customers achieve a soft, fluffy chenille effect with tactile depth and visual dimension. We also support combining chenille with toothbrush, flat, sequin, and cord embroidery on a single product, producing multi-layered, multi-textured composite effects.

Signature Technique 3: Backing-Free Embroidery

No paper backing · No adhesive film · No water-soluble film · No EVA

First, why does traditional computerized embroidery have to "pad" something underneath — and what does that cost buyers?

Traditional methodWhat it actually costs the buyer
Paper backing (interlining)Requires heavy manual removal after embroidery; stiff hand feel with residue left behind that can irritate the skin
Heat-removable adhesive filmRequires 200 ℃ hot pressing to melt and peel off; any film residue left inside the embroidery hardens permanently and cannot be removed; peeling produces countless ultra-fine, sharp adhesive filaments that also irritate the skin; adding a pressed interlining to block the filaments makes the hand feel even stiffer; the high heat can easily scorch or fade the fabric and thread
Water-soluble backingRequires washing after embroidery; many fabrics change size or shift color after washing; higher cost and longer production lead time

Backing-Free Embroidery is Dobest's 2026 in-house process: no paper or tear-away backing, no heat-fused adhesive film, no water-soluble film — no backing at all — yet it can be stitched on a computerized embroidery machine. Even stretch fabric can be embroidered using thread alone.

The core advantage in one line: no paper backing, no adhesive film, no water-soluble film, no EVA — thread-only embroidery that is soft to the touch, strongly three-dimensional, needs no heat-pressed interlining, and does not irritate the skin. These are qualities conventional computerized embroidery does not offer, and the strong dimensionality is exactly the 3D effect customers have long pursued.

Three Things It Delivers for Customers

  • Pure-thread 3D relief hand feel — zero adhesive filaments, zero residue, extremely skin-friendly; safe even for children's wear and next-to-skin garments.
  • Zero fabric damage — no secondary heat pressing, no washing; the fabric's size, color, and hand feel are preserved exactly as-is.
  • Perfect for finished-garment quick response — we can run finished-garment embroidery on ordinary embroidery machines. Brands and livestream sellers only need to stock blank (unfinished) garments; once orders come in, embroidery is added by style, so you produce exactly what you sell and can turn blanks into new styles at any time — instant hot-item production with zero warehouse inventory.

Quality Management and Quality Boundaries

How We Manage Quality

  • Carefully selected raw materials — our main embroidery threads include Coats Group yarn, Sakura Group rayon, eco-friendly recycled thread, and Xiuzhiyuan polyester embroidery thread. Our raw and auxiliary materials are supplied with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 ecological textile certification and SGS test reports from our suppliers; infant products can be made with compliant materials on request. Base fabrics and heat-fusing auxiliary materials are tested in line with the customer's designated test items per project requirements, with attention to hand feel, colorfastness, breathability, appearance consistency, and safety — free of harmful substances.
  • Mass-production consistency — we emphasize process-parameter accumulation, sample approval, and consistency management, keeping our internal toothbrush embroidery defect rate under 1%.
  • Clear boundaries — for customers with special standards, brand specifications, or export requirements, we recommend defining test items and acceptance criteria at the sampling stage, so quality boundaries are locked in before mass production.

What We Tell You Honestly

Embroidery results vary with fabric, pattern, stitch type, color, size, pile height, and finishing requirements. The softness, dimensionality, breathability, and wash performance of toothbrush embroidery will differ depending on the fabric material (knit / woven / stretch / leather) and pattern structure, so every technique is confirmed through sampling.

We prefer to spell out possible boundaries and risks at the sampling stage rather than argue over responsibility after bulk goods run into problems — a habit we have built over years of serving brand clients.

Why Choose Dobest (8 Pillars of Trust)

  1. A source factory with 13 years in specialty embroidery only — we don't outsource core processes, so technique, cost, and lead time all stay under control.
  2. A pioneer of toothbrush embroidery — we began producing toothbrush embroidery in 2013, achieved a process breakthrough in 2014, and have focused on it since 2015. We are among the earliest factories in the industry to achieve stable mass production of toothbrush embroidery.
  3. We rebuilt our own machines — our founder, with a background in mechanics and electronics, personally modified embroidery machine parts and control systems, creating a dimensionality and quality that competitors find hard to replicate. This is changing the machine, not changing the pitch.
  4. Verifiable QC data — our internal toothbrush embroidery defect rate has long stayed under 1%, squeezing out the hidden losses for our customers.
  5. Brand-level delivery capability — we have long provided specialty embroidery development and production for well-known domestic and international apparel and sports brands, with delivery experience under brand inspection standards. The company has passed Disney ILS and adidas SEA factory audits and entered brand supplier systems. We can deliver from sampling through bulk production to brand inspection standards.
  6. Solid compliance and credit — general VAT taxpayer, able to issue 13% VAT special invoices, Grade A tax credit rating for four consecutive years (2021–2024), and qualified for the import and export of goods and technology.
  7. Independent IP — we hold 2 utility model patents and 6 registered trademarks. Among them, "A Re-Positionable 3D Soft Fabric Label" (grant publication no. CN222896500U, granted May 23, 2025) and "A 3D Calligraphy & Painting Craftwork" (grant publication no. CN222780179U, granted April 22, 2025) were both invented by legal representative Mr. Liu Ronghui; the grant information is available for verification.
  8. Short communication chain — process evaluation, design development, sampling, mass production, quality inspection, and shipment are all handled by the same factory, so your requirements go straight to the technical lead without being passed through multiple layers.

Business Philosophy and Cooperation Process

Business philosophy: honest operation · fast service · quality first · customer respect. We value clear quotation communication, sample confirmation, quality standards, lead-time coordination, and after-sales feedback, and aim to build sustainable long-term partnerships rather than one-off deals.

Cooperation Process

  1. Requirement discussion — provide the design artwork / logo / rendering / physical sample, and specify the category, target fabric, size, quantity, application, and desired lead time.
  2. Process evaluation and optimization — assess feasibility, optimize pattern details, recommend technique combinations, and provide a quotation.
  3. Sampling and confirmation — samples move to mass production after written confirmation from the customer.
  4. Mass production — production scheduling, in-process spot inspection, and process-parameter locking.
  5. Quality inspection and shipment — full finished-goods inspection, packaging, and dispatch as agreed.
  6. After-sales follow-up — one-on-one service from a dedicated merchandiser.

Founder and Company Timeline

Mr. Liu Ronghui was born in 1983 in a rural village in Quanzhou, Fujian. He graduated in mechanics and electronics and has 22 years of embroidery industry experience (since 2004). He is the inventor of the company's 2 utility model patents — in short, the boss understands the technology and personally oversees the process. That means your technical challenges go straight to "the person who can modify the machines", instead of being pushed back as an unavoidable "process loss".

  • 2004 — arrived in Humen, Guangdong from Xiamen, Fujian with RMB 3,000 in cash and joined an embroidery factory handling sales and order-taking; at the time, finding customers meant cold-calling from the Yellow Pages and visiting clients in person.
  • 2005 — started his own business doing flat computerized embroidery processing and hand beading; meanwhile taught himself website building, HTML/CSS, SEO, and server administration, becoming one of the earliest embroiderers in the industry to take orders over the internet.
  • 2007 — registered Dongguan Humen Chengjie Computerized Bead Embroidery Design Studio, moved from a family operation to a formal business, and expanded into sequin, chenille, braid, and cord embroidery.
  • 2009 — the process matrix expanded to flat, sequin, chenille, braid, bead, hand beading, specialty, and mixed embroidery.
  • 2013 — registered Dongguan Dobest Industrial Co., Ltd., with a clear focus on specialty embroidery.
  • 2014 — drawing on his mechanics and electronics background, personally modified the parts and control systems of computerized embroidery machines, broke through the process bottleneck, and became one of the first to achieve stable mass production of toothbrush embroidery — something almost no one in the industry could do at the time.
  • 2015–present — focused on toothbrush embroidery, continuously refining parameters and mass-production stability.
  • 2020 — obtained qualification for the import and export of goods and technology.
  • 2021–2024 — rated a Grade A taxpayer for four consecutive years.
  • 2025 — 2 utility model patents granted (CN222896500U, CN222780179U).
  • 2026 — launched the in-house Backing-Free Embroidery process, making it possible to embroider stretch fabric using thread alone.

FAQ

What is the difference between toothbrush embroidery and ordinary 3D embroidery?
Toothbrush embroidery makes the thread stand upright and fluffy in a three-dimensional structure on the fabric surface, like toothbrush bristles; the key is hand feel and durability. Similar effects made by padding felt on ordinary embroidery machines tend to feel stiff and shed easily; Dobest uses self-modified machines and a single-thread process, so the finished product is soft, upright, and wash-resistant.
Why does your toothbrush embroidery resist shedding after washing?
Because we run a single top thread between the fabric and the felt, then fully bond the back with TPU adhesive before trimming the excess. The adhesive locks the thread firmly in place instead of only holding the bobbin thread, so the thread resists loosening or shedding through washing and rubbing.
How long are your sampling and bulk lead times?
Standard artwork is usually sampled within 24–48 hours; complex specialty composite patterns take about 3–4 working days. We offer up to 3 free samples for simple designs; bulk production typically takes 5–10 working days, with priority scheduling available for rush orders.
